Larry is an art teacher and a painter, he is 53 years old and he lives in Wisconsin, United States.
He likes plein air painting, he likes landscapes and he likes being a teacher even more. He wrote a book on paintings techniques, he has an instructional DVD and he regularly publishes on his blog small lessons built around his work in progress. He also has a set of lessons hosted by WetCanvas.
Larry has a website and 2 blogs, “Painting from life” and Simply stated.
It is quite clear his pedagogical side is a large of his passion for art.
I also think painting means adventure for him, if I’m to draw a conclusion of the picture of him with a backpack and a riffle, hunting for subjects (I saw this picture on one of his blogs, I cannot find it again for the life of me).
This has a great contribution to his style. Many of his paintings are expressing the raging forces of nature.
It goes well with his own description of himself: “I live knowing tomorrow is not guaranteed and yesterday is gone and that life and the moment is a gift.”
Totally unexpected, Larry is a musician as well, writing, performing and producing his own music, a blues/folk mixture.
He has yet another site dedicated to this passion.
I think I told enough about him. I am leaving you in the company of his work.
You can see more on his website.
