The Iustian exhibition has just completed. The opening was great with so many of his friends and colleagues there to congratulate him.
The next few days, I have spent a couple of hours taking pictures of each painting so you can enjoy them too.
Unfortunately the lights in there were so poor, I haven’t probably done a very good job.
The entire I am sorry to say this but Caminul Artei is not exactly fit for an exhibition and it’s not just the lights.
The walls were dirty and there was a pungent smell that kept me on the verge of throwing up most of the time.
But never mind that, the paintings were superb. I love his works.
The heavy brush strokes, the delicate hues dominated by the solar yellow always present in his paintings are creating a very distinctive style.
He is using oil on canvas of large sizes having landscapes as favorite subject, be they from Romania or more exotic (Constanța, Greece, Morocco, Spain) but always warm, always serene and definitely close to the sea shore.
There’s nothing else I need to say other than I bought two of them myself: “Beach in the morning” 41x33cm, oil on canvas and “Parasols on the beach”, 75×68 cm, oil on canvas.
As the exhibition is over and the artist is back to France, we have made arrangements to keep his works available to the Romanian art lovers (and the international ones too).
A good number of works are now featured in a private gallery (Ana Gallery, just behind the Romanian television on Emil Pangrati street).
Along with this I have been working on a website dedicated to his works.
It’s a virtual gallery where you can browse his works and order paintings, just in case you see anything you like.
Have a look, there are 60 paintings for you to enjoy.
